I would just like to know if the Volvo 244 [1980] is a good car and suitable for daily useage?

Yes-the 240 volvo is a great car-I owned one for about 6 years and I almost cried when I sold it. The engine on these cars runs almost forever-it will always start and get you there and back. Now the bad news: They stopped making them in 1993 ,which is 18 years ago .You want a 1980 which is th old. Assuming it still runs (it probably does )- I found out that the there's m ore to a car than the engine. Things break,like the fuel pump,wiper motor,blower motor for the heater,and so on. If you get a Chilton or Haynes manual,the car is pretty easy to work on.I put brakes on mine one year,and I'm a woman! I put spark plugs in,too,and a few other things. Plus it's a charmer as far as looks are concerned. If you can do some repairs and have some money to keep it running,it will be good.
